Raincoats for Edmonds Community School

The Willingdon family is responding to a need this November/December to provide raincoats for the students of Edmonds Community School through the Benevolent Fund Giving.

The jackets were requested by the teachers/community because a larger percentage of families are newcomers to Canada and have limited budgets and resources. The need for raincoats arose due to COVID-19 protocols making lunch and recess outside in this wet weather.  We have the honour to show God’s goodness by loving our neighbours in need.

Please consider giving generously to the benevolent fund.

Neighbourhood Food Hub

Many people are experiencing food insecurity during these unprecedented times.

How you can be involved

God invites us, His church, to be a shining example of His love during this difficult time. A way to shine the love of God to the people around us is to love people in practical ways with our Willingdon Church Kitchen.

Willingdon Church has partnered with the City of Burnaby and Burnaby Neighbourhood House to start a “Frozen Dinner Program” to support low-income seniors and families in Burnaby who may not be able to cook for themselves. The City of Burnaby and Willingdon Church have joined in for this very worthy cause and will be making dinners to be distributed to this vulnerable population. With all of us working together, we can bring the gift of comforting, wholesome dinners to people who need them right now.

Meals bless others:

Update: Nov, 2020  “We distributed 2400 meals since we started the program.  Thank you, Willingdon family, for generously supporting.”

...we are looking forward to cooking many more meals over the Winter!
