Share event:

Many in our church community, and the community at large, struggle with food security every day. We want to bless others as the Lord has blessed us, by donating food out of the bounty we have.

On Sunday March 3rd, we will be collecting non-perishable, non-expired food and clean clothing at the BCIT Parking Lot and in our Main Lobby.

Suggested Food List:

  • Canned fish, chicken or turkey
  • Canned black beans, chickpeas, and kidney beans
  • Dried lentils
  • Nuts and/or Seeds
  • Natural Peanut butter
  • Brown rice, barley and  whole wheat pasta
  • Powdered skim milk
  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned fruit
  • Hearty stews with 10g or more protein

No bulk foods please.

Clothing Requirement:

This time we collect not only food but also clothing for the refugee families and individuals who are currently in transitional housing spaces with Journey Home Community.

Do you have some Spring and Summer clothes that you are looking to go to a good home?

Journey Home Community is doing a one time spring pop-up clothing drive for the newly arrived refugee claimants within the Journey Home community.

They are looking for new, or gently used, and pre washed clothes and/or shoes for all genders and ages. Accessories, winter clothes or unsuitable clothes will NOT be accepted at this time.

If you have items that fit this criteria, please drop off food and clothing either at BCIT parking or church lobby during 8:15am to noon on Sunday March 3.

At this time, Journey Home Community is not able to receive donations directly at their office, but they will work with us to arrange a pick up from our church.

Thank you for your generosity!
