Global Ministries: Get Involved

Not all of us are called to serve internationally, but all of us are called to participate in God’s global mission. This page provides opportunities to pray, give, encourage, and more.

Global Ministries - Get Involved

Global Hotspots

Sundays at 7pm via Zoom

This is the best way to get a current glimpse of what is going on in the lives and ministries of Willingdon missionaries! Each week, we are joined by missionaries serving around the world. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know our missionaries, and encourage them in real-time by praying with them.

Mission Circle

September – May
Fall 2022: 1st meeting Sept 20th
Join us on Tues morning from 9:30 am – 12:00 pm in HQ/1500 on the lower floor.

Come and join Mission Circle!  We begin each Tuesday caring for our missionaries by praying for them. Then we fellowship around various tables assembling quilts, school kits, health kits, baby layettes and various other practical items. These items are sent worldwide, through our own missionaries or other mission organizations, to those who are less fortunate than ourselves.

Everyone is welcome! You do not need to know how to sew as there is always something to do, and the fellowship is awesome. If you would like to learn to sew or knit, several of our very patient members would love to teach you.

Check back to this page for updates about the meeting time.

Missionary Care & Support

Willingdon Church supports a whole team of global missionaries, and part of our role as their sending church is to provide care, support and relationship.

Here are some ideas:

Pray

Pick a missionary or two that you and your family will pray for regularly.  If you aren’t already signed up to receive their regular prayer updates, contact us and we’ll put you in direct contact with the missionaries.

Relate

As a small group, consider adopting a missionary.  Be intentional about praying for them regularly, engaging in financial support, paying attention to details in thier lives like anniversaries and birthdays. When they are in Canada, make sure to invite and include them in the things your small group is doing.

Visit

Missionaries are often blessed when people from their sending church show up for a few days. If you are planning a visit to a missionary, please contact Pastor John Best before you go, so that we can resource you with strategies and ideas that will likely be a blessing to the missionary.

If you are interested in standing with a missionary in some intentional way, please contact Pastor John Best.

Long-Term Missionary

Has the Lord put a specific call on your life to engage in long-term mission as an overseas missionary? If you think so, we would love to walk with you in discerning this. We are excited when the Lord calls people from our Willingdon Church family into a missionary career, and we are committed to walking with you as you discern and walk out this call. Please contact Pastor John Best for further conversation.
