Inspired by God's love, Journey Home Community creates communities that offer refugee claimants housing, settlement support, and opportunities for connection. Journey Home is looking for volunteers who can help refugee families settle in Canada.
Willingdon House Community Dinner
July 18
Come and celebrate our partnership with Journey Home Community as we share a meal with the Willingdon House live-in hosts Aaron and Melissa, Journey Home staff and board members, and meet some families who have experienced the opportunity to live in one of Journey Home's transition houses. This will be a time of good food, celebration, and story sharing, and an opportunity to see how God is blessing refugees through Willingdon Church.

Ways to Serve
- Help load and unload furniture into a new home for our families (3 moving teams of 3 people)
- Make a meal for a Tuesday Community Dinner
- Join a moving crew
- Become a Community of Welcome Team to support a newly arrived refugee family (see video below)

Willingdon Church is stepping into a new level of partnership with Journey Home Community.
We are excited that we are stepping into a new level of partnership with Journey Home Community. We have access to a home close to the church that Journey Home is going to use for transitional housing for the refugee claimants they serve. We are calling it “Willingdon House.” We anticipate dozens of refugees being able to stay in this home each year. Exciting news: the house will be operational within this next month!
Here are a couple of ways you can participate:
- We will use the benevolent fund to help with some of the costs of this ministry. Please consider contributing financially.
- There are a handful of items still needed in order for the house to be fully functional. In particular, there is a need for bedding sets. Here is a link to a list of items needed (the most urgent are in red). If you would like to contribute any of these items, please send an email to Ernie.
- Please pray that this new ministry will bring glory to God and serve many people well.
