Ricky & Karen Sanchez

Our ministry in Thailand and SE Asia is diverse and multi faceted, and all the things we put our hands to are with the goal of evangelizing and church planting in the region. The Abundant Life Home Orphanage was opened by Karen in 2006 for HIV+ children who are orphaned because of the sex trade in Thailand. We also run a ministry where we take in women to our homes, who are coming out of the sex industry and help them keep their children, called ‘Project Standing Strong.’ We share the gospel with the women, disciple and train them and raise them up to provide on their own for their children so they can be self-sustaining and serve in our churches. We also run BAP (Babies are Precious) for young pregnant teens to move on site, As well as FBT (Families Belong Together) where we take in abused women and their children so the children don’t have to go to an orphanage, and help them get a new start. We also work with Cambodian pastors and orphanage leaders in training and equipping them to have their church do orphan care. Ricky’s passion is to see young men raised up into leaders in the church, and he uses basketball, soccer and volleyball, in sports ministry for evangelism. He also leads short term teams in the region and mobilizes new workers for global mission. He works at the orphanage training and equipping the young men for leadership. Karen serves as the president of our foundation, does church planting and directs the orphanage. Together we are working towards an on-site leadership training school focused on missions, and our dream is to one day see Thai and other SE Asian believers raised up to be missionaries to the nations.

Prayer Requests

• Pray for Zion Church as we continue to witness to villagers and grow the church. Pray for our members to stay strong in their new faith
• Pray for Big, Mon, Few and Duan at Bible College, for them to finish well and grow in their vision for the Word of God and the lost
• Pray for Orawan, our Thai leader at ALH as she takes on more responsibility and leadership
• Pray for us as we discern when to run a Discipleship Training School
• Pray for God’s leading as we ask Him where and when we should plant a new church
