Missional Town Centers
Mission Town Centers
We want to passionately share Jesus in word and deed at Willingdon, across Metro Vancouver and around the world.
Our hope is that the people of Metro Vancouver experience spiritual, social, and economic flourishing through the experience of Christ's love. As the bride of Christ, we are a called people who know Jesus and are on mission with Jesus (bearing witness) throughout Metro Vancouver. We believe Jesus is transforming our communities as His kingdom advances throughout Burnaby and beyond (2 Cor. 5:20, Matt. 28:18-20, 2 Cor. 5:18).
Historically, town centers provide strategic gathering points for Christians to engage the local community with the good news of Jesus Christ. In our current context today, we know Willingdon Church has a similar role to play as we are strategically and intentionally located in the heart of Burnaby. We have always believed the good news of God's salvation in Jesus Christ is for all people and reaching our community is vitally important.
In the Edmonds community, a group of people coalesced around the idea of being in their community for the purpose of the Gospel. Through prayer walks, relationship building acts like community clean-ups, serving in the local school and serving the vulnerable; Willingdon and the other churches have built a foundation of trust with their community. Individuals who otherwise would not have encountered those who live for the Gospel are welcoming them. We praise God that WC families continue to see God’s hand open doors to engage the Edmonds area.
