Barry and Marlene have invested more than twenty years in ministry in Ecuador. In 2017, God directed them to a new ministry around discipleship and mentoring of people in the church. Read more about their ministry below.
Ministry Description:
To be equipped for this ministry, Barry completed a program with a seminary in Quito for Church Planting and Development, and Marlene completed a counseling program which the National Police have been using to reduce domestic violence and has previous training as a Bible teacher. In this time of pandemic restrictions, Barry and Marlene have been working with individuals, couples, and families, providing discipleship, mentoring, and counseling as needed. Marlene has also translated some church growth and discipleship books into Spanish. God continues to open doors for relationships, and with on-line Bible studies and Prayer meetings, they are encouraged to see individuals grow in their relationship with Jesus and in turn, share Jesus with others.
Prayer Requests:
- That the people in our community would have open hearts to hear and believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour
- For boldness in proclaiming Jesus’ message in our community
- That we would know what to say as we disciple individuals and lead Bible study groups
- We want to communicate the gospel of Jesus clearly and correctly
- For unity, and physical and spiritual protection in our marriage and home as we serve our Lord
- To wisely discern which ministry opportunities to participate in.
