Jen Mascardo

Jen is a youth worker in the South Asian community of Abbotsford, with Youth Unlimited. Flowing out of the mission of Jesus, Youth Unlimited relationally engages in holistic work with vulnerable youth in partnership with the church and the community. We hope to see vulnerable youth experience abundant life in Christ (John 10:10).
Ministry Description:
Growing up in a Filipino household and a diverse community in Burnaby, Jen enjoys learning about different cultures. Most youth and families she connects with are Punjabi with a Sikh faith. The youth are in need of positive role-models and holistic relationships.
Jen oversees volunteers and leads a girl’s ministry, which involves mentoring young girls, engaging with their families, and hosting girl’s events. She also partners with the local middle school and high school as a lunch supervisor, after school program leader, and coach. She aims to create a space for youth to feel accepted, encouraged, and loved. She desires to serve faithfully in prayer, using the gifts God has given her to build long-lasting relationships in the community and in partnership with local churches.
2018 was when her calling to this community began. She was a volunteer with Youth Unlimited in 2018, a summer worker in 2020, an intern in 2021, and on staff by early 2022. By God’s grace, doors have been opened for Jen to continue being a light in west Abbotsford.
