Better Together Isn't Always Easy

Intro

We’ve been working through our Better Together series, discussing various aspects of the importance and implications of being a spiritual family. Throughout history, the chruch has been filled with conflict, strife, contentious relationships, manipulation, infighting, spiritual abuse, sexual scandals… and that was just in the first century!

Jesus famously said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.” Who are the sick Jesus is talking about? He’s talking about you and me. None of us come into this world spiritually healthy. We all need a doctor; we all need Jesus. That’s why the church is filled with brokenness. As we’re on the journey becoming spiritually healthy we still hurt each other, we still make mistakes, and we still need forgiveness, grace, and restoration from Jesus and from each other.

Questions for Reflection:

  • Is there anyone you need to forgive?
  • Is there anyone you need to ask forgiveness from?
  • If no one comes to mind, ask God to show anyone you need to forgive. Ask Him to bring their names to mind. Write them down. Pray and ask God what your next steps should be. Then go do them.
