I Timothy 2:8-10
Prayer is central to our activity as God’s people. Prayer includes worship adoration and praise, but also making requests of God. All of God’s people are called to pray for lost people, bringing them before the throne of God. Prayer is one of the greatest privileges that any child of God has. It is both commanded and enjoyed. But with prayer comes all manner of potential dangers. Interestingly enough, Jesus warned us more about the dangers inherent in praying, than he actually commanded us to pray. As we look at our text today, we will see that some of those dangers are gender specific, that is, men and women have unique temptations based upon gender. Thankfully, Paul helps us to learn to overcome them and enter fully into the call to pray.
