I Timothy 5:17-25
We live in a day when effective leadership is longed for, and yet much maligned. Our culture both suspects people who hold power, and yet yearns for leaders who are strong. Of course, this reflects the schizophrenic relationship we have with political, business and civic leaders. News programs with titles like “Keepin’ ‘em Honest” reflect the suspicion that most now have to those who lead. We rightly fear unbridled power, but struggle to find the proper balance. And sadly, this attitude finds its way into the church. Today, we will discover how to have a healthy attitude toward our elders.
