Proverbs 3:1-12

In a recent survey, it was found that 11% of Canadians are counting on winning the lottery in order to retire. In a recent radio call in show, a man stated that he was counting on his own common sense to get him through life successfully. Many Canadians are counting on the government to give them good things in life. Others count on friends and family. Still others count on their education and skills.

Today, as we continue to consider the theme of wise living, we will be urged to count on God. But counting on God is not a passive activity. It demands that we demonstrate faith in him in some very important areas. But if we do, we will find that the rewards are the very thing that people who want to live well are seeking. We will discover how obedience and faith are connected in the life of wisdom.
