I remember my baptism as if it were yesterday. I was fourteen years old and it was a beautiful April afternoon out in a river called Nagurigawa in the country of Japan. It was there that I stepped into the cold water and publicly made a full commitment to follow Jesus. There are two events that will always remain in my heart for the rest of my life: My conversion and my baptism. That day I made a public testimony to follow Jesus as people watched on. Baptism was a crucial step of obedience for my faith to grow and today we will discover the importance of baptism through this passage.
