Jeremiah 31:15-16

Back in the 12th century, a now unknown composer gave us one of the most popular carols we sing at Christmas. It was originally written in Latin, but we know it today as "O Come O Come Emmanuel". The first verse reflects the Christmas story from Jeremiah 31:15. This story from Jeremiah tells us that that the only hope for a ruined world is the coming of the Son of God. Today we will learn why Christmas is the only remedy for the sorrow of a sinful world.
