Let Us Confess to One Another

In a growingly post-Christian world simply mentioning the spiritual discipline of confessing our sins has taken on a host of connotations and elicits in the hearer an array of images and emotions. What does it mean to confess sin? Why do we confess? What is the role of confession in light of what Jesus has done? Is it simply an exercise in ‘letting things off my chest’? Or is there some sort of spiritual weight behind this discipline? Most importantly, what does God’s Word tell us about the spiritual discipline of confession? Let’s turn to Numbers 5:5-7 as we learn what this spiritual disciple is and is not.
