April 26, 2015 - Sunday Service

Acts 12:18-25

Is there an overwhelming force at work in our lives?  In popular North American culture we have come to refer to a powerful, unstoppable, destructive force as a “juggernaut” force.  The word is actually derived from Sanskrit and literally means “world-lord.”  For many, juggernaut is a fictional supervillain found in comic books and movies.

In our own lives, however, these advancing forces do not feel anything like fiction. The presence of these forces may be reflected in our personal anxieties, family tensions or workplace politics.  How do we position ourselves when it appears that an inexorable force is having an increasing impact on our lives and we have no control over it?
