We spend much of our lives waiting . . . In the fall, we wait for the first snowfall (ski season is around the corner). Then we can’t wait for Christmas. And then we yearn for spring and can’t wait until it stops raining. We enter summer and look forward to cooler temperatures in the fall.
When we think of relationships, if we want to marry, we look forward to meeting that special partner. And then we wonder when the engagement will happen. And then we can’t wait for the wedding day, and then for the first child to be born. And then we can’t wait for the child to grow up and get married.
It seems that God has intended for us to live with expectation. What are you and I waiting for today? Do we enter God’s presence with expectation?
