Facing opposition is not unusual.
In the mist of our federal election process, we observe party leaders striving to be elected to Canada’s highest office. As they strive to achieve their purpose, we hear these leaders making promises and proposals. They allege to be working for the good of Canada and its citizens.
Surprisingly, or not so surprisingly, the other parties look for weaknesses in the platforms of the other parties. If they don’t find points of vulnerability in the platforms, they attack the character or lack of experience of the other candidates.
When we embrace God’s purposes for our lives in the world, whether we are at home, down the street or across the ocean, we too will face opposition. The resistance may come from within, family members, society or the spiritual realm.
How should we prepare for opposition?
