Revelation 2:18-29

Sometimes we welcome a penetrating gaze. We know that something is wrong with us physically and so we willingly submit to an x-ray, an MRI, or a CT scan. We want what is afflicting us to be revealed. It will be to our benefit.

At other times, especially when it applies to our inner heart attitudes and motivations, we would rather not come under the penetrating gaze of a specialist. We would prefer to remain in the dark, where our minds and hearts are hidden.
