II Timothy 2:1-7
2 Timothy is one of the great farewell speeches of Scripture. It is intensely personal. These are the last words of a spiritual father, Paul, to his protégé, Timothy. The sense that a phase of life is coming to a close or that one’s life is ending gives one opportunity to share what is of most value. What would our last words be to our loved ones? What kind of instruction would we leave with our disciples?
