Human beings yearn for authentic relationship. We have a God-given desire for what is genuine and true. We want the real thing when it comes to friendship, family and leadership. We want the real thing in church. We want God to be the real thing.
We are disturbed by fake news, projected images, people presenting, false marketing, and post-truth conversation because we actually need to know the truth to live well. Some say that truth belongs to another time. For our time, they say, it has become unimportant or irrelevant. What does the Father expect from disciples of Jesus?
