Exodus is the history of Israel’s salvation. It also reveals the pattern of salvation for us in Jesus. The New Testament describes the work of Jesus in Exodus language. And, just as the Exodus sets the pattern of salvation for us, so the wilderness journey sets the pattern for the disciple’s journey.
God did not give Israel a wilderness experience just to have an experience. Rather, He carved their experience into living truth, so that we might learn from history and not ignore it. Can we agree to learn from history today?
