A cheerful heart is one of the treasures of life, something that Proverbs suggests can be attained through the practice of wisdom. But where does the cheerful heart come from? Is it just a personality trait that some have and some don’t? Is it genetic? Are some people just born happy? Proverbs doesn’t actually tell us how to get a cheerful heart, but more presents it as something to which we can aspire, and show its benefits to life.
