We are starting a new series: “Parables and Passion.” The parables of Jesus describe the Kingdom of God; the passion of Jesus is at the centre of the Kingdom.

Many locate this teaching geographically at a cove called the “Cove of the Parables” on the Sea of Galilee. The land surrounding the cove slopes down like a natural horseshoe-shaped amphitheatre, providing the environmental acoustics for Jesus’ voice to carry over 100 meters from the boat to the crowd of hundreds gathered on the shore. Israeli scientists have tested the acoustics and found that the crowd would have heard Jesus’ words.
