Intro

We are now 10 months into this pandemic. Some have had to navigate health and financial crises. All of us, at some level, have had to face mental, emotional, and relational strain. We feel isolated from family and friends. Many feel as if God is distant as well. Does His light still shine in the shadows of our lives?

In our passage today, John, the disciple of Jesus, writes: “The true light which enlightens everyone was coming into the world” (John 1:9). John’s 1st century world longed for true, genuine light – something authentic and real. Our world longs for the same thing. We’re tired of being manipulated in relationships. We’re tired of being played by the powers that be. Can God be trusted? How can we know His love is real?
