Intro:

As we move through Psalm 130, I want to remind us that this is one of the 15 songs of Ascents. A song that was sung by the Jewish people as they headed up the hill toward Jerusalem for the dedicated feasts.

To add another component, Psalm 130 is one of 7 penitential Psalms, a Psalm of confession, repentance, and forgiveness. The other penitential Psalms are Psalms 6, 32, 38, 51, 102, and 143.
