The Christmas Miracle!

Intro

What is the Christmas miracle?

In a particularly remote region of the Tibetan Himalayas, within the nation of China, there is a mountain called Mount Kailash. It is 6638 meters high (almost 22,000 feet). Four religions consider it to be a sacred place.

Every year, following a tradition that goes back thousands of years, thousands of pilgrims make their way to Kailash. They believe that going around Mount Kailash on foot (52 km) is a holy ritual that will bring good fortune.

And here is the interesting thing. No has ever been to the summit of Mount Kailash. Even setting foot on the mountain is considered to be a grave sin for all four religions. Out of respect for the four religions, the Chinese government has prohibited climbing the mountain.

For the adherents of those four religions, a god who represents enlightenment, supreme bliss or spiritual power resides at the summit, but no one can go there.

Many in our Western society, would consider themselves to be agnostics. They believe a god or an ultimate cause exists, but he is unknown and unknowable to humans like us.

Can God be known? And if he can be known, how does he reveal himself? What is he like?

  1. God moved into our neighbourhood.

  2. God came with an even greater grace.

  3. Look at Jesus, see God!
