COVID Update December 22, 2021

UPDATES – DECEMBER 22nd, 2021

The provincial government put into place new Provincial Health Orders to reduce the risk of COVID-19 during worship services.

Effective December 22nd, 2021, we will continue following these guidelines:

“All participants attending worship services, must wear a face covering at all times during worship services and when they are in the building. Participants may remove their masks when taking communion.”

“Worship services must be limited to 50% of seated capacity.” We will continue to follow these guidelines in the Sanctuary and continue to use the Connection where they will be a simultaneous ‘live feed’ of the services for those who prefer more space.

We will also continue to encourage social distancing and provide frequent cleaning and sanitation procedures in all venues.

The Provincial Health Organization also announced that worship services will continue to be exempt from those attending a worship service to provide proof of immunization.

“Our elders team has prayerfully and carefully considered this current question and have discerned that we will not implement vaccine passports. It is the position of your elders that restricting people from participating in events on our church premises due to vaccine status does not align with our stated value: “to be a home for all people.” Please go to this link for more information: willingdon.org/elders-update-on-events

We are grateful to our government leaders and health authorities for granting faith communities the freedom to worship and for recognizing religious gatherings as an “essential service which plays a critical role in connecting the community by supporting beneficial and safe social interactions.

We understand that some may still be hesitant or concerned as we gather together in-person for worship services and gatherings. We ask that you would be patient with each other, love one another and exercise the grace and care for one another as Jesus has called us to do.

Please take time to review the updated Willingdon Church guidelines listed below for more details on in-person worship gatherings and services, as determined and affirmed by our elders and leadership team.

We are so grateful for your patience, understanding, support and prayers during this time and throughout the pandemic. We will also continue to offer online services and virtual opportunities to connect and care for our church family and community around the world.

We praise God for His grace, protection and provision during this time and we trust Him to continue to guide and protect us as we serve and continue our mission “to know Jesus Christ personally and carry on His ministry”.

We are truly looking forward to seeing you in person! Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
To God we give the glory!

With appreciation
Penny Fuchihara
Executive Director
