Volunteer: Translator
Willingdon Church is a multi-ethnic community with a focus on the Gospel message. Our translation volunteers make it possible for all who attend to learn about God and grow in their faith in their own language.
Sermon Subtitle Translations
Each weekend we upload our sermons online, and our faithful volunteers help us to translate subtitles into different languages.
Skills & Gifts:
- Fluent in English and the language that you will be translating
- Able to read English and write well in the language that you will be translating
- Strong understanding of the Bible
Time Commitment:
- ~10-16 hours to translate the entire sermon
- ~2 hours to input subtitles into the video

Live Audio Translations
Volunteers do spoken translations of each sermon in two possible formats: home recordings for our online services, or live translations from the church building on Sundays.
Skills & Gifts:
- Fluent in English and the language that you will be translating
- Strong understanding of the Bible
Time Commitment:
- Home recording for online service: at least 2 hours of preparation; 45-60 mins of recording and uploading
- Live translation at church on Sunday: 1.5 hours for one service

Written Translations
Volunteers help to translate English documents, booklets, and tracts into another language.
Skills & Gifts:
- Fluent in English and the language that you will be translating
- Able to read English and write well in the language that you will be translating
- Strong understanding of the Bible
Time Commitment:
Volunteers help translate our weekend sermon notes (about 200-300 English words per week) and/or full sermon transcript (about 3,500-4,000 English words per week)
