Life of David: Studies in 1 & 2 Samuel
April 14 – June 2, 2021 (8 sessions) | 7:00 – 8:30 pm
No other character in the Old Testament is portrayed so fully and clearly as David. He was a man after God’s own heart, a boy who fought and defeated a giant, a commander who led Israel to victory, a friend who cared deeply for others, a King who ruled with justice, a musician who loved to worship and a human being who sinned in tragic ways. His good character serves as an example to follow, his bad decisions demonstrate the painful fruit of sin, and his entire life points to God’s faithfulness, working in and through his chosen servants. Most important, David the first King is a forerunner of Jesus, our eternal King. Through studying the life of David, we come to know the God he worshiped, we can see and understand ourselves in his humanity, and we hope for a King like him, only better.
