Prayer is not unique to the Christian faith. People from different religions, ethnicities, and cultures around the world make their request known to the spiritual realm. Prayer, however, has two possible foundations. What are they?

In Matthew 6, Jesus encourages His followers to go to the secret place and sit with the Father when they pray. This invitation from the Father to intimate conversation is the inspiration for prayer. If this is the invitation, how should the disciples of Jesus pray?
