Our Willingdon Church family has been giving generously to our Ukraine Relief fundraising project. Thank you to those of you who have given. We have received over $100,000 so far. You may be wondering, “Is there anything else I can do?” Here are a few options:
- Financial. We are still receiving funds. About half of the funds that we have received will be used directly for providing relief aid in Ukraine and surrounding nations. We will be partnering with a couple of our key mission agency partners in the region. The other half of what we have currently raised will be used to help meet some of the needs that Ukrainian people who are arriving in Greater Vancouver will have. If you’d still like to give, the project is open. Here’s the link, or you can give in-person by writing “Ukraine Relief” on your giving envelope.
- Other offers of help. Maybe you would like to give something beyond money. Perhaps you have a room in your house where someone could stay for a couple of months, or a job that could be available for someone, or a cell phone or laptop, or you want to buy groceries to fill a pantry, or you would like to provide childcare. Or maybe something else – there are lots of possibilities. If there is something you would like to offer, please contact Nicole Yang and we’ll be in touch when a need arises that matches what you would like to offer.
- Prayer. Please pray for the millions of people whose lives have been so significantly affected. And please pray that this conflict will come to an end.
Please note The Directors of Willingdon Church Society will faithfully discern and have full discretion on how to disburse all funds.
