Kiana is working with the House of Omeed (Omeed is Farsi for “hope”), which is a Christian organization dedicated to helping Farsi-speaking refugees and newcomers to adjust to new life in the Lower Mainland area. They help by providing settlement services such as arranging shelter, helping with legal work and paperwork, taking people to appointments, translating for them, providing ESL classes, and any other way we can engage and build a relationship to share. They also have a food bank that provides culturally diverse food essentials, and many other tasks as required. These people are mostly Muslim or have a Muslim background and are usually from Iran and Afghanistan. During this process, Kiana is exploring ways to share Christ with them and bring His hope into their lives. House of Omeed records short programs that include a Bible message and worship to broadcast through satellite for the underground church in Iran and people everywhere in the world can watch it.
