Today we take a turning point in our sermon series. Over the next number of weeks, we will be looking at the spiritual gifts that God gives to the church. A spiritual gift is a special attribute or special skill given by the Holy Spirit to every member of the Body of Christ that is used to build up the Body of Christ and to carry on the mission Jesus has entrusted to us. There are all sorts of spiritual gifts listed in Scripture. We will get into many of the specific gifts in the coming weeks, but this week we will take a broader view and talk about how all the gifts are meant to function in the church.
