Intro

In chapters 9-11, Paul reflects on God’s ancient plan of salvation that began with Abraham, and shows that the true DNA of God’s people is not a matter of ethnicity or any other human marker. The entire book of Romans, indeed the whole New Testament, makes the clear point that people begin at the level ground of the cross of Christ. We share the DNA of being created in God’s image, but we also have in common the sin each us possesses, and the fact that while we were sinners Jesus died for us. God so loves the world, that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. Today’s Scripture passage, 11:25-36, concludes this part of Romans and offers three responses to God’s great work of salvation.
