August 8 & 9
Dear Nursery Parents,
We are now in the month of August. In the weekly Nursery video, I have been introducing the colors of the rainbow and God’s Promises in them. This week’s color is “Purple”; it reminds us that Jesus is King of the universe and He reigns over everything in our lives; that includes our precious children. Let us place our trust in Him and follow His steps daily; like the color “Purple”, with the Grace of Jesus, we can create a new color and paths in our children’s lives.
"These will make war with the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them; for He is the Ruler of rulers and the King of kings, and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful." Revelation 17:14
What you need:
1. A puppet or a friendly stuffy.
2. A friendly image of “a leader”.
3. Your child/family's favorite songs ready to play.
4. Shakers, rattles, or scarves to have fun with the music.
We have embedded the links of some of our favourites right into the worship and prayer tab to make it easier for you to find :-)
5. A Beginner’s Bible (Or any Children’s Bible): Read from190-193: 'The Lord Is My Shepherd”. Pray about the wisdom to send a short and clear message, and mark the picture on P.192
6. Box of hand wipes or sanitizer & snacks like cookies.
*The better you prepare, the more fun both you and your child will have. It is highly recommended to read the chapter or/and watch the video ahead of the time. *The Bible Time could be 15-20 minutes. It could be shorter or longer. It is important that you know your child’s character and decides the length of time, the type of songs….be flexible, and have fun with him/her!
May God bless you and your family as you follow His way. Choose a quiet place where there are few things to distract your child. Use a big smile :-) and an exciting tone of voice. Let’s start!

Bible Time: The Fruit of the Spirit - Kindness
Today We Learn That:
The Fruit of the Spirit is Kindness. The bible says, “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32
What is kindness? Kindness is being considerate of others and putting others before ourselves.
Kindness means responding politely when being complimented when you say want to say no to
something or even when others are being means to you.
When we are kind, we honor God and not ourselves.
The best way to show God’s love in our hearts is when we do not repay unkindness by being mean or punishing the person who did us wrong. Instead, we chose to forgive them as God forgives us. God sees our hearts and by being kind to others despite what they do, makes God happy and pleases His heart. The bible teaches us not to pay back wrong for wrong but instead wait for God and He will deliver you. Proverbs 22:20
Remember, ignoring others, leaving them out or telling them to go away is unkind and would hurt their feelings. We need to treat others like how we want to be treated. We can begin by showing others that they are valuable and important. “Do unto others as you would have them do to you.” Luke 6:31
Just like our Kindness Cherries, they will always include others and are kind in words and actions. So be KIND and let your little light SHINE!
Bible Story - The Story of Joseph and His Brothers
Joseph showed kindness to his brothers and took care of them and their families despite what his brothers did to him out of jealousy. He even forgave them for throwing him into the well. Joseph is a good example of showing kindness to those who have wrong us. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we too can learn to be kind-hearted.
Joseph’s coat – colorful and bright-
Helped to put him in a plight.
Jealous brothers, evil plan,
In a well, it all began.
Egypt! Slavery! Jail! Dream!
God undid their awful scheme.
Joseph ruled the kingdom’s grain.
Forgave his brothers in his reign.
Brave, godly, humble and free,
Second in command was he!

Random Act of Kindness Week! Do something that shows kindness to others?
Here are some suggestions:
1. Paint a Kindness Rock for a neighbor, friend or someone who needs some encouragement.
It can say “Smile”, “Jesus loves you”, “Thank you”, “I love you!”, “You are beautiful” etc.
2. Ask your parent if they could PAY for the person in front of your car at the Drive-Thru.
3. Make a card for someone, who may need some cheering up.
4. Being kind by saying something amazingly nice and kind to our brother and/or sisters and friends when playing and be extra positive in your words.
Parents: You can affirm your child when you see them being kind by saying:
“Thank you for being so kind, ____.”
“Thank you for thinking of ______, instead of yourself.”
“You have such a kind heart, ____”
At WillingdonKids, our goal is for kids and their families to know Jesus Christ personally and to carry on His ministry. We believe that parents and families are the primary spiritual care givers. To this end, our hope is to come alongside you to raise children who:
- KNOW Jesus as Saviour and Lord
- GROW daily in the knowledge and love of God, by the power of the Holy Spirit
- GO into and throughout the world, boldly and obediently proclaiming who He is and what He’s done.
By providing sound teaching rooted in God’s Word and strengthening their trust in the authority of the Bible in their daily lives, our hope is to equip and support families in their God-given roles.
