Intro

The love of God is powerful. As Pr. Rob said last weekend, much more powerful and enduring than the strongest cup of coffee. God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. We can know God loves us because we experience it, internally.

But, one might argue that this is very subjective. Is there any objective basis for our hope? Can we know for sure that God loves us, even when our feelings or the drama of our life circumstances might be leading us to question that love?  

Reflection:

• Augustine of Hippo (4^th century bishop of North Africa): “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.”  
• Where, other than God, are you tempted to find rest? Has that thing or person become an idol for you? What may you need to change in your life?
