I sometimes enjoy watching the auditions of Britain’s Got Talent or America’s Got Talent. I enjoy watching people, like Susan Boyle, shock the panel and the audience with their raw talent. Jaws literally drop as unassuming artists sing, dance, and perform.
Some contestants sign up for the talent show because they believe that TV exposure and the evaluation of Simon Cowell will change their lives. Their talent will be acknowledged for what it truly is and new opportunities will be granted. It’s not unusual for a member of the panel to say: “This audition today changed your life. Your life will never be the same.”
Take note. The message is not that the super-talented person needs to change. Rather, the person just needs a chance to be known, and if their potential is known, new opportunities will open to them. They believe the message of the famous person who says, “I met ______ and it changed my life. An opportunity fell into my lap and my life has never been the same.”
What kind of opportunity would change your life?
Would meeting a certain person change your life? Who would you need to meet?
Would anything need to change in you?
